Itinerary
Day 1, Arrival in Venice
Benvenuti! Welcome to Italy! Upon your afternoon arrival in Venice, check in to your elegant hotel and enjoy time to unwind—the city’s romantic canals and alleys set the perfect tone for the journey ahead. In the evening, meet JE Escapes Tour Leader and fellow travelers for a welcome briefing.
Day 2, Exploring Venice & Burano
Sail the Grand Canal, then enjoy a guided walking tour of St. Mark’s Square, the Basilica, and hidden calli (lanes). Later, glide on a gondola through quieter canals. In the afternoon, boat to colorful Burano, famed for lacemaking. Return to Venice in the evening.
Day 3, Venice → Florence – Art & Architecture
Travel by high-speed train to Florence, the heart of the Renaissance. Today is yours to explore Florence at your own pace. Wander its charming streets, shop in artisan boutiques, or relax in a sunny piazza.
Day 4, Florence at Leisure or Optional Excursions
Your guided city tour will showcase the Uffizi Gallery’s masterpieces, the lively Piazza della Signoria, the historic Palazzo Vecchio, the romantic Ponte Vecchio, and the Basilica of Santa Croce.
Day 5, Florence → Rome
Travel by high-speed train to Rome. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in and an evening at leisure.
Day 6, Ancient Rome – Colosseum & Forum
Step back in time with a guided visit to the legendary Colosseum and the Roman Forum. The afternoon is free to explore Rome at your own pace, perhaps visit the Pantheon, toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, or enjoy a relaxing piazza stroll.
Day 7, Vatican City – Art, Architecture & Faith
Discover the treasures of the Vatican with a guided tour including the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica, concluding in St. Peter’s Square. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy Rome at leisure.
Day 8, Arrivederci Roma!
