Day 1, Welcome to Genoa

Arrive at Milan’s airport and enjoy a seamless private transfer to the train station, where a high-speed train takes you to Genoa. After check-in at your centrally located 3-star hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax and settle in. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2, Tracing the Past

Begin the day with breakfast before meeting a local genealogist for a visit to the State Archives. Learn about Italian emigration, genealogical research, and how to trace your family tree. The experience continues at the Monumental Cemetery of Staglieno, an open-air museum of Italian art and history. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. Overnight in hotel. 
Tip: wander the historic alleys and try Genoa’s famous focaccia.

Day 3, A Journey Through Migration

After breakfast, visit the National Museum of Italian Emigration for powerful stories of the Italian diaspora. In the afternoon, continue your research with a visit to CISEI and the FamilySearch Center alongside your genealogist. Overnight in hotel.

Day 4, From Liguria to Tuscany

Enjoy breakfast and depart Genoa with a private driver to Florence. Upon arrival, check in at your 3-star hotel and head to the local FamilySearch Center, where expert volunteers will guide you through genealogical documents. End your day with dinner at Enoteca Pitti, featuring Tuscan wines and regional cuisine. Overnight in hotel.

Day 5, Migration Stories in Lucca

After breakfast, take a private round-trip transfer to Lucca. Discover stories of Italian emigration at the Paolo Cresci Museum. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk through Lucca’s elegant squares and tree-lined walls before returning to Florence. Overnight in hotel.

Day 6, Heading to the Eternal City

Start the day with breakfast and board a high-speed train to Rome. After check-in at your hotel, take a few hours to rest or explore your surroundings, taking in the city's beauty. Overnight in hotel.

Day 7, Research in the Capital

Following breakfast, meet a local genealogist and visit CSER and the National Library, where you will learn how to navigate the “Portale Antenati,” Italy’s official ancestry database. Overnight in hotel. 
Tip: spend your afternoon strolling through Villa Borghese or visiting St. Peter’s Basilica.

Day 8, A Roman Day to Yourself

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and a full day of free exploration in Rome. Overnight in hotel. 
Tip: discover the Vatican Museums, the Colosseum, or simply enjoy a gelato by the Pantheon.

Day 9, Walking Through History

After breakfast, take a group guided walking tour of Trastevere, the Jewish Ghetto, and Campo de’ Fiori. Learn how local communities evolved through time and migration. In the evening, savor a traditional Roman dinner at Trecca Cucina di Mercato. Overnight in hotel.

Day 10, Naples and Neapolitan Flavors

Begin the day with breakfast and take a high-speed train to Naples. After check-in, relax before enjoying a hands-on pizza-making experience at Trattoria Medina in the evening. Overnight in hotel.

Following breakfast, meet with your local genealogist to review all the research collected during the trip and begin crafting your personal family history journal. A visit to the Naples State Archives completes the experience. Overnight in hotel. 
Tip: end your day with a sunset walk along the promenade or a visit to Castel dell’Ovo.

The Italian continental breakfast is generally lighter than other countries’. It typically includes bread and pastries accompanied by butter and jam. This breakfast is usually served buffet-style allowing guests to choose what they prefer

The number of nights included the package is based on the itinerary. However, it is possible to add extra days to the itinerary for an additional cost

The hotel city tax is not included and is a local fee that travelers must pay when staying in an accommodation. The amount varies depending on the city and the type of accommodation. Tour Leader will collect them and pay it directly to the accommodation provider at check- out.

The “private coach” service provides exclusive transportation with a vehicle reserved for package participants. The coach is equipped with all necessary comforts, ensuring a comfortable and personalized journey
